One of the strategic pillars of Iquique Terminal Internacional is efficiency and productivity aimed at satisfying the needs and expectations of customers. For this, the company is permanently reviewing its processes and incorporating new technologies. In that sense, we have been pioneers in the automation of documents, we have implemented equipment that has reduced the time in our operations and processes, providing greater immediacy to services.
ITI is responsible for the entire operation, which facilitates the control and security of the cargo, maintaining a service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For the development of these tasks, we have a team of highly qualified collaborators and first-class technological equipment, which positions us as one of the most efficient ports in northern Chile.
In addition, in the case of the Bolivian market, we have expedited routes and better transfer times, which facilitates the connection with the port terminal. The maximum potential is the commitment of the workers and the additional value that they place in the development of their tasks.
Infrastructure and equipment:
- Total concession area: 13.50 hectares.
- Useful area: 10.27 hectares
- Warehouse area: 1976 square meters.
- Container yard (Ground Slots) 6.356 teus
- Docking sites: 2 Site No. 3 has a length of 330 meters and 9.3 meters draft.
- Site No. 4 has a length of 304 meters and 11.4 meters of draft.
Modern equipment for operational work
Iquique International Terminal has incorporated technology and equipment of first level for the development of its operations, which allows to guarantee customers a quality service.
For the execution of the tasks, we have:
- 04 mobile cranes: 01 Liebherr crane of panamax type, 01 Gottwald of post-panamax type, 02 Gottwald of super-post type panamax.
Each of these equipment has a lifting capacity of 100 tons and, two together, in tandem, can carry up to 160 tons. They were built especially for ITI in Germany and Austria, by leading companies in the market of mobile dock cranes.
In addition, we have:
- 07 spreaders
- 07 reach stacker cranes
- 18 terminal trucks
- Various utilities, cranes forks, among others.
